What?
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) State Highway Administration (SHA) are holding Public Workshops at Eleanor Roosevelt High School on the widening of I-495 and I-270.
When?
Tuesday, April 23, 2019, first session starts at 6:30 PM, second session starts at 8:30 PM.
Where?
Eleanor Roosevelt High School
7601 Hanover Parkway
Greenbelt, MD 20770
Why?
Greenbelt is located in the stretch of I-495 to be widened. This Public-Private Partnership (P3) project is estimated to cost 9-11 million dollars. The initial 15 options for the widening of I-495 and I-270 have been reduced to seven (7). Transit options, such as dedicated bus only lanes, have been dropped with the focus now on toll lanes.
Residents will be able to review engineering, traffic, environmental, and financial analyses as well as recommendations for the alternatives retained for the detailed study in the Environmental Impact Statement.
